Water Tank Cleaning Coromandel Peninsula and Thames District

Whether you are here full-time or unlocking the bach for the summer, you deserve to turn on the tap and know the water is clean, safe, and looked after. That is exactly what we are here for.

What is Actually in Your Tank Right Now?

The Coromandel Peninsula is one of the most naturally beautiful parts of New Zealand. It is also one of the most demanding environments for a rainwater tank.

Salt air rolls in off the Hauraki Gulf and the Pacific coast year-round, depositing fine particulates on every rooftop on the peninsula. Native bush drops a constant supply of leaves, seeds, bark, and organic matter. Steep hillsides mean roof runoff arrives fast and furious when the heavens open, flushing whatever has built up straight into your tank in one go.

Then there are the roads. Anyone who has driven the Thames Coast Road or wound their way up to Colville knows that fine gravel dust gets everywhere, and your water tank is no exception.

And the wildlife. The Coromandel is teeming with it, which is part of the appeal, until a bird, possum, or rodent finds their way into an uncovered inlet and takes up an unwanted RIP residence.

The result of all this, left unchecked over a season or two, is a layer of warm, nutrient-rich sludge sitting at the bottom of your tank. A perfect environment for bacteria to quietly multiply. Not something you want to be drinking, cooking with, or bathing your kids in.

For the Bach Owner Who Only Checks In Twice a Year

Holiday properties on the Coromandel face a specific challenge that permanent residents do not. A bach sitting empty for weeks or months means water sitting undisturbed and warming in the tank, debris building up with nobody around to notice, and filters quietly cultivating bacterial growth between visits.

By the time the family arrives for the Christmas holidays, the tank could be harbouring months' worth of accumulated sediment and bacterial growth, causing strong, unpleasant odours for your first holiday shower. It is the kind of thing you do not want to discover when you are already an hour from the nearest town and starting to get thirsty.

A pre-summer tank clean is one of the smartest things a bach owner can do, and one of the easiest things to arrange.

What Our Customers Say

We Go Where the Tank Is

Coromandel properties are not known for straightforward access, and that is putting it diplomatically. Steep bush driveways, one-lane coastal roads, tanks perched on hillsides, baches wedged between rock faces, properties that take forty-five minutes to reach from the main road. The peninsula throws up every possible variation and then some.

Our setup is compact, self-contained, and built for exactly this kind of work. No large vehicles, no reliance on your property's existing water pressure, and no need for a concrete driveway. Our utes tackle grass driveways with ease.

If other companies have told you your property is too remote or too awkward, or the tank is too far up the hill, give us a call. Easy.

Not Going to Be There? No Problem.

We work with absentee owners and property managers across the Coromandel and Thames District all year round. If you are based in Auckland or further afield and cannot make it down for the clean, we can handle everything remotely. A quick phone call or email to arrange access, and we will send through a full photo report once the job is done.

It is one less thing to worry about before the holidays.
